Disclaimer

If you do not know me (I mean, really know me) then there is something you need to understand before you read this blog: I value the truth above everything else... except a good laugh. A good laugh will almost always beat the truth as far as I’m concerned. Everything you read on this blog will be true, somewhat true, or something I made up in an effort to get a laugh. Sometimes I will go on a rant that I don’t really mean (or only kind of mean). Sometimes I will mean what I write only to completely change my mind a year, month, or day later. Such is life. By reading this blog you agree not to get offended by anything I write (or, at the very least, you agree not to tell me or anyone else that you are offended). It is worth noting that my employer does not endorse my blog (or even read it, to tell you the truth). The Wife also does not endorse my blog (though she will read it from time to time). I am not paid to write this... it’s just my way of giving back to the community. I have, and will, touch on a wide range of subjects and will give my opinion on these subjects. Again, most of what I say is for laughs but every now and then I will say what I really think and feel (see my views on Westboro Baptist Cult). How will you know when I’m serious and when I’m trying to get a laugh? You’ll know. And if you don’t know, well... maybe this isn’t the best thing for you to be reading. So, sit back, read and enjoy. Leave comments if you want and don’t be afraid to publicly follow me.

Thankful Thursday

Today we are thankful for moms. Not just my Mom (though, of course, we are very thankful for her), but for all of the moms out there. While raising a child or three isn’t easy for mom or dad, it’s the mom who takes a beating before the little guy/gal even enters the world. It’s an amazing thing when you think about it and I’m glad it’s something I didn’t have to go through. Typically, mothers are the more nurturing of the parents. Listen, I know there are some bad mothers out there and that’s too bad. Too bad for the children and too bad for the mothers… but we’re not here to talk about bad mothers. We are focused on the good moms. There is a long fought argument over which type of mother is better… the stay-at-home mom or the working mom. We’re going to let you in on a little secret… as long as they love their children, they are both great. And as long as they really love their children, neither one is easy. Do you think it’s easy to stay at home and raise a child? Try it for a week without going crazy… I’m pretty sure I couldn’t do it. On the other side, do you think it’s easy having to wake up in the morning, get your child (or children) dressed and to daycare, go to work, then come home and try to spend quality time with your child(ren) before bedtime? I know that’s not an easy thing for a mom to do… not if she really cares about spending time with her kid(s). Nope… there are no two ways about it, being a good mom just ain’t easy. But there are a lot of moms out there who somehow manage to find a way to not only be good, but great… and for that, I am grateful.
